MAGNETIC TUBES AND GRATE MAGNETS

Magnetic tubes and magnetic grates are a simple, compact and extremely effective solution for removing ferrous contaminants from small-sized materials, whether in free fall or slow flow.

Made of high-intensity magnetic tubes (usually Neodymium), they are housed inside stainless steel structures designed for easy installation in hoppers, pipes, chutes, inlets or containers.

Thanks to their versatility and reliability, they are widely used in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics and recycling industries, wherever it is essential to ensure high product purity and to protect sensitive equipment such as screw conveyors, feeders or packaging systems.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS ON MAGNETIC TUBES

Magnetic tubes are made of high-intensity Neodymium magnetic bars, sealed inside stainless steel AISI 304 or AISI 316 tubes, with the option of hermetic welds that ensure strength, hygiene, and easy cleaning.

The ends can be smooth, drilled with female threads, or, upon request, male threads as well, depending on the specific application.

Magnetic grates are manufactured by assembling multiple magnetic tubes into a rigid structure, which can be square, rectangular, or circular in shape. The stainless steel frame allows stable positioning in inlets, hoppers, or ducts, making installation and maintenance easier.

Depending on requirements, grates can be single or multi-layer, also removable, for greater efficiency in capturing ferrous particles.

On request, certifiable versions are available for food industry use, with polished finishes, smooth welds, and materials suitable for contact with food, in compliance with European regulations.

Magnetic tubes and magnetic grates use the high-intensity magnetic field generated by Neodymium magnets to attract and retain ferrous particles present in the flowing material.

The operation is purely passive: as the product flows or falls by gravity over the surface of the tube or through the grate, it comes into direct contact with the magnetic field, where metallic contaminants — even very small ones such as dust, shavings, or ferrous residues — are captured and securely retained.

This principle enables highly precise separation without electrical power consumption, without moving parts, and with minimal maintenance.

Depending on the configuration, it is possible to achieve a single-layer action (one row of bars) or multi-layer action, to increase interception efficiency in more complex applications.

Magnetic tubes and magnetic grates are available in a wide range of configurations, designed to precisely adapt to different process requirements.

They can be manufactured in various diameters and lengths, with a magnetic field calibrated according to the type of contaminant to be intercepted. The magnetic intensity can reach up to 12,000 Gauss, allowing the capture of even the finest or weakly magnetic ferrous particles.

The magnetic field layout is carefully studied to achieve, depending on requirements, either greater surface attraction force or a deeper action range, taking into account the characteristics of the material and its particle size.

Magnetic grates can be configured in single or multiple layers, available in square, rectangular, or circular shapes, with customizable bar spacing to ensure a smooth material flow and highly efficient separation.

  • Simple construction: static separators with no moving parts, extremely reliable and durable.
  • Installation versatility: compatible with installation in hoppers, pipes, chutes, and containers; available in single- or multi-layer solutions, with customizable shapes and bar spacing.
  • Extensive customization: available in different sizes, configurations, and magnetic intensities (4,000–12,000 Gauss) to meet specific process requirements and material variability.
  • No energy consumption: operation is completely passive, with no need for electrical power or moving parts, reducing operating costs and mechanical issues.
  • Simplified maintenance: magnets can be easily removed or extracted for fast and safe cleaning, even in environments with high hygienic requirements.
  • Separation efficiency: designed to effectively capture ferrous contaminants even under challenging conditions.
  • Equipment protection: prevent damage to feeders, screw conveyors, pumps, and packaging systems, reducing downtime and repair costs.
