A frequent and accurate routine maintenance is essential to avoid unforeseen failures that would slow down – or even stop – production. We recommend using the spare parts suggested in the separator manual as they have been tested by the manufacturer to guarantee optimal functioning.
The machine components which suffer the most wear are:
- The internal and/or external bearings: they have a limited service life under operating conditions before they fail. The bearings need to be replaced as soon as possible after failure in order to avoid significant damage to the shaft.
- The PVC or rubber belt: its wear is easily detectable as the belt shows holes through the surface.
- The dielectric cylinders (installed only on Eddy Current Separators): Malaman C.T.C. markets its own fiberglass cylinders and those of other manufacturers. Upon customer request, we apply special covers onto the cylinder such as resins or other compounds in order to increase its resistance.
